Signs it is time to call
- Panels in the garage with no labels on them
- Missing wing nuts or anchors
- Gutters full of oak leaves
- You will be out of town in storm season
- After a storm and you want someone to look the house over
Hurricane Prep around Zephyrhills
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and Hurricane Milton in 2024 hit the east side of Pasco hard, with trees down all over the Zephyrhills area. Once a storm has a name and a cone over us, everybody and their brother calls at the same time and the stores run plumb out. The best time to call is before that.
A lot of folks around here are retired or away part of the year. Wayne is glad to be the one who gets the panels up, the patio furniture put away and the gutters clear, and then checks the house once the storm has passed.
Is your house storm-ready?
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30.
How Wayne does it
- 1
Label and count
Panels marked by window and hardware counted before the season, so storm day goes fast.
- 2
Put them up
Panels or shutters installed on your existing tracks and anchors.
- 3
Secure the yard
Patio furniture, grills, planters and loose items put away or tied down.
- 4
After the storm
Panels down, a walk around the house, and photos of anything that needs attention.

What changes the price
Every job is priced before work starts. These make one hurricane prep job bigger or smaller than another.
Number of openings
More windows and doors means more panels to label, carry and install.
Type of shutter
Accordion and roll-down shutters are faster than heavy steel panels.
Second-story windows
Ladders and extra care for upper windows take more time.
Before or during a watch
Planning ahead in June is easier on everyone than a rush the day before landfall.
Materials, and why
Wayne works with the shutters and panels you already own. Panels get labeled by window, hardware gets counted and bagged, and missing wing nuts or anchors get replaced with the right size before storm season.
Patio furniture, grills and planters get moved inside or tied down. Gutters get cleared so heavy rain flows away from the house instead of over the side.
Before you call
- Find all your panels and hardware now, not when the cone is over us.
- Count wing nuts and anchors. Missing ones are the most common problem.
- Take photos of your home inside and out for insurance, and save them off your phone.
- Plan who will take panels down after the storm if you will be away.
What a visit includes
- Labeling and organizing panels
- Installing shutters or panels
- Securing outdoor items
- Removing panels and a post-storm walk-around with photos
