What changes the price
Every job is priced before work starts. These make one painting and touch-ups job bigger or smaller than another.
Prep work
Walls full of holes, peeling spots or old wallpaper glue need more prep than walls that just need a fresh coat.

Going from dark to light usually needs primer and an extra coat.

Materials, and why
Inside, Wayne uses a good-quality acrylic latex, satin or eggshell on walls so they can be wiped, and semi-gloss on trim and doors. Bathrooms get a paint made for humidity, because a Florida bathroom without a strong fan is basically a steam room.
For front doors and anything facing the afternoon sun, an exterior-grade paint with good UV resistance holds its color longer. A west-facing door can fade in a couple of summers with the wrong paint.
Before you call
- Pick two or three colors you like and grab the paint chips. Seeing them on the wall in your own light helps.
- Look for the paint can labels in the garage. Matching the existing color is much easier with them.
- Note any cracks, holes or water spots so they can be fixed before painting.
- Decide which furniture can be moved out of the room ahead of time.
